Embassy Hotel — Santa Monica, CA
Services provided
- Historic Preservation Consultant
- Mills Act Application
The current owners purchased the landmark Spanish Colonial Revival style Embassy Hotel in Santa Monica constructed in 1928, converting it to the Palihouse Hotel. Historic Consultants worked with the new owners on the conceptual planning for a new landscape plan that was consistent with the architectural style and image of the building, grounds, and courtyard. HCI helped secure approval from the local Santa Monica Historic Preservation Commission for the plan, and related maintenance items. The updating was consolidated into a successful Mills Act application that prioritized and outlined the ongoing maintenance needs of the building, providing guidance to the owners regarding the long term restoration needs and budget requirements.
