Project Name: St. John’s Hospital / Sycamore Senior Housing Village
Project Description: Adaptive Reuse of an old hospital, potentially eligible for the National Register, into affordable senior housing utilizing the 20% Historic Tax credits. The developer ultimately decided to abandon the use of historic tax credits due to necessary building alterations to adaptively reuse the building as senior housing in compliance with city codes and regulations.

- Researched potential to list building and site on the National Register of Historic Places for purpose of historic tax credits. Research required extensive investigation on the building and religious organization associated with the founding of the hospital dating back to the mid 1800’s to determine eligibility.
- Review of development plans for compliance to the Secretary of Interior Standards.
- Advised the developer and tax credit investor on risks associated with project and potential noncompliance issues.
